The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) here will be holding a two-day Awareness, Membership and Donation Campaign from April 5 at Palm Square in Centre Point, here.

Its President, Loretta Lucas, said the event is to create awareness among the public on proper care and humane treatment of animals as well as to recruit new members and to seek funds to finance its activities.

Among the activities planned include face painting for children, jumble sale as well as display on animal information, she said.

Meanwhile, the SPCA announced its line-up after its inaugural annual general meeting held at City Hall on Saturday, comprising Lucas as President, Yap Pek Chin (Secretary), R. Jayanthi (Treasurer) and committee members Fazrul Dullie, Sarina Lee, Catherine Marcus and Rosie John. Twenty six members attended the AGM.
